He holds a first degree and a PhD from Cambridge University. His doctoral work, conducted in the Department of Psychology was an in depth study of how psychiatrists justify their power and control over other professionals. This work was an early example of a sophisticated piece of Organisational Development (OD) that has proved a bedrock to much of the OD work he has subsequently done in a huge variety of companies (both commercial and charitable).
‘Throughout my professional career I have been fascinated by those who can ‘get under the skin' of others. My early encounters with many of the leading thinkers in the field left me dissatisfied with the quality of their capacity to really listen, listen without prejudgment, and base their recommendations and solutions on the sure base of real insight and in depth knowledge. When I discovered SIMA I knew I had found a methodology that satisfied my desire to find a ‘technology' that enabled me to work in a truly generative way with my clients. I understand what Oliver Wendell Holmes has called ‘the privilege to listen', my clients know the wisdom this brings'. E-mail: nisbister@simainternational.com Phone number(s): 44 1865 513888
